Navigon 2100 max Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

With the arena for GPS devices already crowded, it takes a lot of guts and something special just to be able to get a share of the market. Navigon is a relatively new name in the business and its 2100 max looks and feels young as well. It offers a large 4.3-inch screen with a slender profile. Other features include the Reality View and Lane Assistant, which makes sure you’re always in the right lane. However, the awkward window mount mars the design. The device has easy address entry, spoken direction, and street pronunciation. Rerouting takes only a few seconds, which the reviewer finds quite fast. However, the reviewer noted that the screen is wasted with icons that can be organized even better. The POI database if the 2100 max is paltry, offering only a 2-million POI database. To further extend the usability of the 2100 max, Navigon offers several extras for a price such as the Zagat review ratings as well as Lifetime traffic. Although Navigon may have what it takes to be a major GPS player, the Navigon 2100 max is not at par with other sub-$200 GPS devices.
Pros:
-Easy to use
-Quick rerouting
-Maps visually pleasing
Cons:
-Poor POI database
-Bulky
