NEC NP41 Projector Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — August, 2008

XGA projector-seekers looking for a low-priced model that can perform well might want to look at the new NEC NP41. It’s packaged in a white, utilitarian box with no frills or fancy. The reviewer noted that the NP41 is certainly light, weighing in at 3.6 pounds. The ports available are just the bare essentials: VGA, S-Video, composite video, and a mini audio socket. The remote control is large, though there are only a few useful functions on it. The NP41 features an autofocus/keystone correction that automatically compensates for any trapezoidal or keystone image effects. During testing, the NP41 produced a brightness of 2210 lumens - a few lumens short of what is advertised. The reviewer states that the NP41’s ratio of 534:1 is among the highest they have seen. Warm-up and cool down times are quick, the latter needing only 14 seconds. Put the 2-year warranty into the equation, and it’s clear that the NEC NP41 is certainly a bargain.

Pros:
-autofocus/keystone correction
-quick cooldown
-high contrast ration
Cons:
-noisy fan
