From the web browser that gave the Internet Explorer a run for its money comes its latest version: the Mozilla Firefox 3. With larger, stylish buttons and a color scheme that matches your system’s, the overall appearance of Firefox 3 is much more attractive than its predecessors. Add-ons are still around, and bookmark management was streamlined, making it better than ever. Clicking the star in the address bar once will bookmark the current site. Clicking it twice will let you customize how the bookmark is saved and handled. Firefox 3’s new address bar features an auto-complete list that displays complete page titles and logos. Speed-wise, tests show that the Firefox 3 is an improvement over previous iterations. Security is still taken seriously, that’s why the address bar can now identify a site’s legitimacy. Accessing a site containing malware will produce a full-size browser message as a warning. With an improved look, stronger security and plenty of features, the Mozilla Firefox 3 remains at the top of the browser pack.
Pros:
-Easy to install add-ons
-Improved overall appearance
-Improved address bar
-Enhanced security features
-Stable
Cons:
-No window-merge feature

It took 3 years and several hundred engineers for Mozilla to finish the newest iteration of its hit browser, Firefox 3. FF3 has over 15,000 bug fixes and feature improvements, such as a new page rendering engine, remarkable performance gains and multiple OS integration. Installing Firefox 3 over Firefox 2 is painless - you won’t lose your history, bookmarks, start page, search engine preference, and even downloads performed in the earlier browser version. One of the best features of Firefox 3 is the excellent location bar. As you type into it, a list of suggested Web destinations based on your browsing history pops up. The reviewer noted that most of the time, the first suggested site is the intended target. The new download manager gives users the ability to pause and resume downloads and search for previous ones. The previous Firefox releases have been plagued with memory use. The new rendering engine, Gecko 1.9, reduces memory fragmentation, as well as identifies and removes memory leaks called cycles. The reviewer also noted that the Firefox 3 may be the most secure browser around. Aside from phishing protection, it blocks sites known for distributing malware using a blacklist compiled by Google. An excellent location bar, better memory management and a gauntlet of security protection make the Firefox 3 the leader of the browser pack.
Pros:
-fast
-complies to the current Web standards
-excellent location bar
-better memory management
-downloads can be paused, stopped and resumed
Cons:
-create new tab has no dedicated button
-slower start ups
