The Motorola EQ5 just got a big brother in the form of the Motorola EQ7. Measuring 6.7 x 6.1 x 1.7 inches, the reviewer stated that the EQ7 resembles an old portable CD player. It has four aluminum-domed JBL Odyssey transducers to give the EQ7 the audio punch. The speakers and the microphone are positioned face up, giving the unit omni-directional sound. Connecting the EQ7 via Bluetooth is a cinch. Music played through it sounded good with only a minimal amount of distortion. However, at higher volume levels, this distortion becomes more evident. The EQ7 functioned well as a speakerphone, with both the parties sounding clear on each end. Using the 3.5mm line-in jack resulted in a cleaner signal, but just like in the Bluetooth connection, there was a fair amount of distortion when listening at higher volumes. While it may not be as portable or as cheap when compared to other Bluetooth speakers in the market, the sound quality and volume of the Motorola EQ7 is worth the added bulk and cash.
Pros:
-portable
-loud JBL Odyssey speakers
-good as a speakerphone
Cons:
-expensive
-On/Off sound too loud
