Motorola EQ5 Portable Wireless Speaker Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — August, 2008

It may look small, but the Motorola EQ5 packs enough punch to fill a cubicle, small kitchen, or hotel room with music. Featuring a miniature design and a sleek look, the EQ5 is an ultraportable wireless speaker measuring only 4.6 x 2.6 x 0.6 inches and weighing a mere 3.5 ounces. Two speakers flanking the Motorola logo deliver the music. It doubles as a speakerphone as well, with the call and answer button placed on top of the unit. A 3.5mm line-in jack resides on the right side for those who want to plug-in their music players. Pairing the EQ5 via Bluetooth is a painless and quick process. As a speakerphone, the reviewer stated that it sounded clearer and crisper than the regular cell phone. The EQ5’s 1-watt-per-channel speakers delivered good-sounding music. However, setting the volume at maximum resulted in distortions. Using the 3.5mm line-in jack produced crisp and clear music regardless of the volume level. The reviewer noted that the rechargeable battery, rated to last 8 hours, took 4 days of occasional use before needing a charge. Portability, a lengthy battery life and an excellent speakerphone makes the Motorola EQ5 a strong option.
Pros:
-Very portable
-Excellent speakerphone function
-Good volume
Cons:
-Sound distorts at high-levels
