Microsoft Windows Live Messenger Reviews

Summary of review published by Smartphone & Pocket PC — June, 2007 (page 38)

Windows Live Messenger is an application that lets you send instant messages via your Windows Mobile device. It’s a more advanced program when compared with the MSN Messenger that came bundled with Windows Mobile 5 devices. It lets you conduct several instant messaging conversations at the same time, and the interface is definitely more user-friendly. Windows Live Messenger can also integrate with your Contacts list, allowing you to see whether your phone contacts are online or not. However, the program automatically imports all your contacts " even though you don’t necessarily want them on your instant messaging list. A way to work around this is to add your contacts one by one. Users also have the option to send and receive voice clips, but the reviewer recommends faster connections for this. Although you can send files through instant messaging, some file types are prohibited due to security concerns. Windows Live Messenger also integrates your Hotmail or Windows Live email accounts into the program.
Pros:
-Lets you carry multiple instant messaging conversations at the same time
-Allows you to send files and voice clips via instant messaging
Cons:
-All your contacts are automatically imported even if you don’t want them to be
