Mercora M Wireless Music Service Reviews
Summary of review published by Pocket PC — April, 2007
(page 50)
Mercora M is a wireless music service that lets you choose the genres and artists you want to listen to on the radio. This service lets you access over 3 million songs on 100,000 digital radio stations all over the world. Although there is a free 2-week trial, there is a subscription fee that is dependent on your data plan. The reviewer notes that the audio quality is almost as good as CD quality, although you won’t be able to listen to a song you like unless it’s playing on a digital radio station somewhere. The program also lets you read artist biographies and listen to the music of similar artists. There is also a chatting feature, but your contact list has to be downloaded from the desktop version of the program. The audio quality may be good, but the buffering gaps are excessive over slow connections and bad reception, and the reviewer found the program almost useless while attempting to use it in his car. Navigation is a bit difficult, and although the reviewer’s version didn’t have a help or tutorial feature, Mercora said that they will include it in their future versions.
Pros:
-You can choose from over 100,000 digital radio channels from all over the globe
-Free two-week trial
Cons:
-The reviewer experienced huge buffering gaps while using his mobile device in a car
-Navigation isn’t user-friendly
