Mackie 1402-VLZ3 Audio Mixer Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — January, 2008

For most small studios, audio could come from many different sources. And in order for all those sources to blend perfectly, one needs to have a reliable mixer, such as Mackie 1402-VLZ3. The Mackie 1402-VLZ3 is a 14-channel mic/line mixer and packs some unique electronic wizardry. If you have used a compact mixer before, moving around the board will not be any problem. The reviewer found that the buttons of the mixer all had a good feel. How ever, as for the faders, the movement wasn’t smooth and noise is generated as well by a semi-ridged membrane designed to keep out dust. Performance wise, the reviewer tested the Mackie against a Behringer UB1622fx-Pro, a similarly-designed compact mixer. The results showed that the Mackie had far more overall warmth, clarity and richness. The reviewer stated that if you are looking for a solid performing mixer, the 1402 is a good value and a good investment.
Pros:
-Case is all metal, great signal processing

Cons:
-Some Knobs and faders aren’t smooth in movement
