Logitech Squeezebox Duet Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — March, 2008

Having a device stream music from your computer to your stereo is no new technology. However, the Logitech’s Squeezebox Duet does more than just that. It lets you listen to thousands of online radio stations and even have access to online services just like Pandora, Rhapsody and Slacker, absolutely no PC required. The glossy black receiver is controlled by the Duet controller roughly the size of a normal remote control. The difficulty of setting up the system is usually anchored on whether or not you are behind a firewall. If not, then setting up will be a breeze. On the other hand, you have to open up several ports if you are behind one. Once everything is up and running, the reviewer stated that the system was very intuitive and easy to use. With the Duet, you get the option of setting up a multi-room audio system capable of controlling multiple music streams independently, though at the cost of your network speed. The reviewer recommended that if you are setting up a multi-room audio system for one or two rooms in a small house, the Squeezebox Duet is the way to go.
Pros:
-Attractive glossy black design
-Impressive audio fidelity
-Access to online services without a computer
Cons:
-Not firewall friendly
-Network hog with multiple receivers
-Inadequate documentation
