Great things come in small packages, as in the case of the Litepanels Micro. Although the reviewer didn’t like the fact that the casing was made of plastic, the unit is sturdy. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the hot-shoe connection and tilt articulation, which are ineffective. As a light source, the Micro excels. It has six rows of eight luminous white (5600°K) LEDs, providing a nice, soft light. A diffusion filter lowers the light by one stop, taking some of the sharpness away. If you want to use it off-camera, there is a base plate accessory available. Engineered for small video cameras, but able to keep in step with pro equipment, the reviewer strongly recommends the inexpensive Litepanels Micro.
