The Linksys Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Router is a true draft-n router that won’t cost you an arm. Looking for anything cheaper will be a challenge. It has Five Ethernet ports at the rear - one WAN/Internet and four wired Ethernet ports, although none are Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) capable. It comes in a sleek black and gray case with no external antenna. The reviewer noted that setup is a murky affair, no thanks to the LELA issue. Twice did the WRT160N hang during configuration. The installation utility failed to find the Internet connection, though the router did see the broadband Internet connection and handed out an internal address to the machine running the installation CD. Once you’ve overcome the installation hump, its (almost) smooth sailing afterwards. You’ll be greeted by the vintage yet impressive Web-based management interface as on every other Linksys product, sans the advanced options found on more expensive models. The WRT160N includes support for VPN pass-through, DHCP and NAT as well as an SPI firewall. It can support any of the more common wireless encryption and authentication schemes. Performance-wise, the WRT160N had a throughput average of 116 Mbps at 20 feet, 73 Mbps at 50 feet, and 38 Mbps at 80 feet; quite slow even for a 2.4-GHz-only router. Nonetheless, if you are looking for the cheapest true draft-n router, the Linksys Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Router WRT160N fits the profile.
Pros:
-good price
-has WPS support
-good management interface
Cons:
-slow
-buggy installation
