The IBM/Lenovo X41 just got a serious upgrade with the release of the Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet. Compact, usable, and sturdy than any ultralight convertible, the X60 retained the X41’s good points and added a few more. With only a weight of 3.7-pound, the X60 is exceptionally light. The reviewer stated that the keyboard of the X60, just like in X41, is the best in its class. Tested on Tablet mode, the reviewer also found the X60 to be extremely versatile. With its 12.1-inch, bright and very responsive display, gesture commands are easy to perform and it was viewable even at almost impossible angles. The Multitouch and Active Rotate allows for new ways to work with your convertible. Performance-wise, the X60’s Core Duo T2500, 5,400-rpm 80GB hard drive and 1GB of memory was enough to deliver. However, the reviewer noted that the standard four-cell battery only lasted for less than two hours on a DVD rundown, though a $50 upgrade can double that. With all the good stuff from the X41 and 2 new and extremely useful features for the X60, the reviewer states that Lenovo remains king of the convertible hill.
