Lenovo Thinkpad X300 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — February, 2008

The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 is Lenovo’s entry into the newest generation of ultraportables. Weighing only at 2.9 pounds and with a thickness of only 0.7 to 0.9 inches, the X300 just became more polished than previous ThinkPads. The LED-backlit, 13.3-inch screen of the Lenovo allows it to be thinner than traditional panels. And despite the many innovations to the X300, the reviewer noted that the keyboard hasn’t changed: still a pleasure to type on. To cater to the thinness of the X300, they included the remarkably thin 7mm burner. However, in lieu of a hard drive, the X300 offers a 64GB SSD, which the reviewer found to be quite small. Also, the reviewer stated that they would have loved to see an SD card slot. Benchmarks score for the X300 were reasonable enough for everyday work but is not enough for 3D gaming. As for the battery life, the reviewer found the endurance to be good, lasting 5 hours and 7 minutes doing typical chores. If weight is important for you and you don’t mind paying for the many extras, the reviewer stated that the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 is worth every penny.
Pros:
-Very light and thin
-SSD instead of HD
-7mm DVD drive
Cons:
-Less storage space
-No memory card slot
-Expensive
