Lenovo extends its convertible business notebook line-up with the latest ThinkPad X200 Tablet. Made with lightweight carbon-fiber, the X200 Tablet is surprisingly light at 4.2 pounds with an eight-cell battery. It features a full-size, spill-resistant, and comfortable keyboard. Deviating from the usual TrackPoint-and-touchpad combination, the X200 Tablet only has the TrackPoint. For input, you have several options: a traditional CCFL panel that also recognizes only pen inputs, and an LED-backlit panel capable of pen and fingertouch input. It has the usual ports for connectivity along with 5-in-1 memory card reader and an ExpressCard/34/54 slot. Unlike previous ThinkPad tablets, the X200 Tablet allows the ability to swivel the screen a full 360 degrees. The display offered minimum glare and wide viewing range. Placing a greater emphasis on multimedia, stereo speakers and dual microphones now adorn the X200 Tablet. Performance is slightly above average for ultraportables. Graphics performance is also above average but definitely not for mainstream gaming. For security purposes, the X200 Tablet has a biometric fingerprint reader, TPM 1.2 circuitry, and the ability to disable all of the ports. While it’s rated for 10.3 hours of use, the reviewer noted that it endured for only 5 hours and 54 minutes. The X200 Tablet’s security, durability and performance features make it one excellent business notebook.
Pros:
-excellent tablet functionality
-excellent keyboard
-light
Cons:
-no touchpad
-no optical drive
