Producers on a tight budget and finds dual monitors too costly will find a lot to love with the LaCie 324 LCD. The 324 is a 24-inch wide LCD display that features HDMI ports or viewing your HD footage on a wide 16:10 format in up to 1920x1200-pixel resolution with beautiful color reproduction. Physically, the reviewer found the 324 gorgeous and a cost effective solution to Apple with the dual HDMI ports as well as a neat picture-in-picture function. However, the PIP doesn’t have its own memory, and changing inputs meant reactivating PIP and choosing the source. The LaCie includes four zoom and aspect ratio modes that blows-up the source to 1920x1200-pixel size. Image quality with the 324 is quite good â€" every element in the screen looks crisp and clear. It displays an astounding amount of detail on footages as well as excellent color reproduction. One minor complaint of the reviewer is the not-so-sensitive touch-sensitive panel buttons. A work around is to enable the sound function, which beeps whenever contact is made with the buttons. All in all, despite the small and minor flaws, the LaCie continues its tradition of excellence in computer products with the LaCie 324 LCD.
