LG recently released a new line of televisions named “Scarlet,” and part of the series is the 47LG60 LCD HDTV. It has a glossy black bezel and an attractive crimson trim that surrounds the mirror-finished base stand. A bevy of A/V ports is readily available at the rear of the camera that includes four HDMI, two component video, and one VGA for PC use. All of the ports accept 1080p60 video signals. A lone USB port at the side can be used to access images (JPEG) and music (MP3). The 47-inch screen of the 47LG60 provides full 1080p resolution. The reviewer stated that the 47LG60 has the most comprehensive and effective set of picture controls, all of which are easily accessible through the menu. A contrast ratio test showed that the 47LG60 had a black level measurement of 0.14 cd/m2 - an excellent result. With the included Super-IPS screen technology, picture quality is maintained even at extremely wide viewing angles. Playback of 1080i and 1080p HD material was excellent, with fine details preserved and distracting artifacts eliminated. The reviewer also noted that the 47LG60 achieved a perfect score in the HD HQV Benchmark test. If picture detail and excellent color quality are of utmost importance, the 47LG60 LCD HDTV is an excellent choice.
