LG Decoy Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — June, 2008

In a stroke of pure innovation, LG created a slider phone with a whole new twist. At the back of the LG Decoy is a Bluetooth headset that automatically pairs with the phone when turned on. Now there’s no need to purchase or hunt for that elusive headset in your bag or purse. The design isn’t shoddy either. It’s only 4 inches long and weighs in 4.1 ounces. Even if the headset is stowed at the back, the phone is only 0.7 inches thick. It features a four-way joystick which according to the reviewer, could be easier to use. The included headset looks sleek as well and feels surprisingly comfortable and sturdy in the ears. As for the voice quality, the reviewer noted that the Decoy sounded better without the included Bluetooth headset, due to its lack of noise-canceling technology. The Decoy supports Verizon’s VZ Navigator service, as well as over-the-air downloading service for both audio and video. Battery life didn’t last long during testing - the power bar was down to two from four after 8 hours of intermittent use. Overall, while the included headset may seem innovative, the current price just doesn’t seem to cut it given its features and performance.
Pros:
-Included Bluetooth Headset
-Fast browsing
-Over-the-air downloads
-Decent camera

Cons:
-No noise-canceling technology in included headset
-Joystick can be difficult to use
-Short battery life
