LG Dare Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — September, 2008

Verizon users are out of luck when it comes to purchasing an iPhone since it doesn’t work on their network. However, the LG Dare is a unit that combines the power and ease of use of the iPhone and the great Verizon network. It comes in a black design, weighs 3.8 ounces, and measures 4.1 by 2.2 by .55 inches. The front is dominated by a 3-inch 400x240-pixel touch screen. Just like an iPhone, the Dare has an accelerometer, light, and proximity sensors that automatically reorients the screen and change the brightness depending on the location. The reviewer stated that the interface elements are large and finger-friendly. Tapping on the screen is accurate, thanks to the Dare’s haptic feedback. Call quality is good, with transmissions sounding fine. The Dare is also great as a multimedia player because of its partnership with Rhapsody and Verizon's typical V CAST client. The Dare’s 3.2-MP camera makes it better than most of the camera phones on the market. Web browsing is provided by Teleca Obigo browser and it can work as an EVDO Rev A modem for Macs and PCs. If you are in the market for a feature-rich phone under Verizon, the LG Dare might just be what you are looking for.
Pros:
-easy to use interface
-excellent media player
-excellent battery life
Cons:
-no PIM synchronization
