From a slider phone, LG decided to turn the Chocolate 3 into a clamshell one with improved music controls. Available in black or light blue metallic lid, the Chocolate 3 has a large 1.8-inch display on the outside and an even larger 2.2-inch, 320 x 240-pixel resolution display in the inside. Flip it open and you’ll be greeted by a spacious keyboard. As for the UI, LG decided to take the simpler road. While over-the-air music download is available, there is a catch: it costs $1.99 a pop, which the reviewer finds to be a bit steep. At the highest volume, the speakers didn’t sound too good. The Chocolate 3 can be used for GPS with the VZ Navigator. While it offered accurate directions, the reviewer noted that rerouting takes some time. Web browsing using the EV-DO Rev. 0 connection is acceptable but on the slower side. The 2-MP camera took very good shots outdoors and decent ones indoors. Call quality was excellent and battery life was just right at the button. The LG Chocolate 3 is a good option for those looking for a quality phone that can easily double as a multimedia player.
