According to the reviewer, the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D is one of the most exciting new cameras to come out in years. It is the first digital SLR from this company, but the wait is well worth it as the Maxxum 7D delivers a host of impressive features. Most notable of these is Anti-Shake - a novel idea relying on sensor movement, as opposed to lens movement, to achieve image stabilization. The result: users can get sharper images even at maximum telephoto with their all their existing lenses. Since there’s no more need to buy separate expensive IS lenses, you save hundreds of dollars for other important gear. For example, the user can purchase the optional VC-7D Vertical Control Grip for better handling when shooting in vertical orientation. It can also hold two additional NiMH batteries or 6 AA cells so you don’t have to worry about running out of power just when you really need it. Most importantly, the Maxxum 7D produces top-notch image quality at 6MP, even under low light conditions set at ISO 1600 and ISO 3200.
Pros:
-Impressive sensor-based image stabilization
-2.5” LCD screen
-Excellent design for handling and controls
-Brilliant viewfinder
-Tough, well-built body
Cons:
-Price is a bit steep for 6 MegaPixels
