In a lineup for cameras reviewed, the DiMage A200 was the most powerful, high-end camera in the group. The A200 is an 8 megapixel camera, but is affordable even with its high image quality. Among its many features is a 7x optical zoom, an anti-shake system, a viewfinder with a good diopter adjustment, and adequate internal flash. The LCD display may be a mere 1.8-inches, but it swivels and folds in so many directions that you can shoot overhead, take low-angle shots, and capture self-portraits. Also, the LCD’s resolution is quite good, and it is viewable outdoors. The camera may save in RAW format, but it also allows you to save both RAW and JPEG images simultaneously. A useful “Flex Digital Multiplier” allows you to enlarge portions of your screen to check the sharpness of your focus. With all these features, the camera is mostly for more serious photographers. This makes it easily accessible to those who know what they’re doing, but average users might find the learning curve a bit steep.
