Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — July, 2008

Kodak decided to go pocketsize with the release of the Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera. The Zi6 was hailed by the reviewer as the only pocket camcorder to challenge the Pure Digital. The Zi6 is lighter than many digital cameras at 3.8 ounces and is similarly sized, if a bit longer. It has a sleek design with its satin black back, non-protruding lens, and 2.4-inch display. A five-way navigational pad serves as control and a red joystick acts as the record button. It has an SD/SDHC slot that the user can utilize to increase the measly 128mb internal memory. The Zi6 is able to record 720p HD videos at 30 or 60 fps. While the 30 fps setting takes a smaller amount of space, videos taken at 60 fps looks a whole lot smoother. The 3-megapixel still photos shot with the Zi6 had good color and exposure - as long as the subjects were close and relatively still. Battery life, however, can be better. The reviewer noted that taking HD videos eats up more battery life. Nonetheless, with the ability to shoot smooth HD videos, the easy-to-use, lightweight and easily expandable Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera is an excellent choice for a budget camcorder.
Pros:
-Can record 720p HD video at 60 fps
-Can take 3-MP still photos
-Memory expandable through SD cards up to 32GB
-Excellent price
Cons:
-No image stabilization
-Mediocre battery life
