Kanguru Eco Drive Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — March, 2008

The best asset the Eco Drive has is not its speed nor its storage capacity, but its reduced power consumption. Kanguru claims that its power management technology would not only save energy but can also extend the life of the drive itself. Although it is compatible with Vista, its power monitoring software is not. The 3.5 inch 80 GB hard drive is enclosed in a glossy black case with silver trim and spins at 7,200 RPM. The author likes the Eco Drive’s energy saving technology and its design but is disappointed with its overall performance, especially when using the backup software.
Pros:
-Consumes less power
-One touch copy button
Cons:
-Sluggish transfer speed
-Management software incompatible with Vista
-Clunky backup program
