JVC Pro GY-HD200u Digital HD Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — May, 2007

This recent addition to JVC’s professional line may indeed be pricey but it certainly packs a plethora of features that appeal to the seasoned professional. It manages to not only look good in action, but it is also capable of recording to tape in different formats. Fluidity in shooting fast moving subjects is possible with JVC’s new Super Encoder, which has made recording the 720/60p format viable in HDV. Setting it apart from the other camcorders is its manual lens, which gives you a very fluid feel with room for finer adjustments. The viewfinder itself is highly adjustable. It also harbors a multitude of pro-level controls, from key gamma to color settings, skin detail to settings of key image quality parameters like black, gamma, white balance, etc. For those who aim to join the world of professional documentary or commercial video production, this camcorder will cater to all your creative needs.
Pros:
-Exceptional image sharpness and color reproduction, manual lense.
-Excellent and solid build
-Excellent user controls and professional form
Cons:
-Pricey
-No optional auto focus or image stabilization
