Ipevo PoV Web Camera Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — June, 2008

While most web cameras are made so that you’d be able to share your own video to the world, the Ipevo PoV Web Camera is something else. Though it can still broadcast a video of you, it is primarily meant to shoot and share videos of things around you. It comes in a long, tubular shape reminiscent of a laser pointer. It has a rotating focus ring for dynamic adjustments and to select one of the two available modes: macro and portrait. Its long 4-foot, 10-inch USB cable allows more room for mobility. Showing and pointing at different objects won’t require you to move your notebook anymore. It comes bundled with the Point of View software that allows you to take VGA snapshots. The reviewer noted that the PoV Web Camera delivered good quality images. Shots were bright and well lit, though colors were slightly dull. The video quality wasn’t as good, however. The reviewer stated that the VGA video had latency even at 30 fps. The sound quality is appalling, even when recording at normal volume. All the same, the design, ease of use and good image quality makes the PoV Web Camera a decent choice.
Pros:
-Long USB cord
-Bright shots
-Smooth Skype integration
-Easy-to-use software
Cons:
-Video not very smooth
-No Mac drivers
