Imation Wireless Projection Link Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — January, 2009

Presenters are often faced with the problem of short VGA cables when using the projector. One solution is to grab Imation’s Wireless Projection Link. A small black box measuring 5.0 x 3.5 x 1.8 inches serves as the base unit. The reviewer noted that setup is as simple as plugging the base station into a projector or screen via a VGA cable and plugging the USB dongle into your notebook or desktop. You can choose between three resolutions: 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024. At the highest resolution, cursor movement across the screen was jerky. High-definition videos produced excellent detail and image quality. However, fast pace scenes were too much for the Wireless Projection Link. At 800 x 600, the results were better. The reviewer stated that setting the resolution of the notebook equal to the resolution used in the Wireless Projection Link produced the best results. Powerpoint presentations were handled well regardless of the resolution. The Wireless Projection Link worked excellently when used in a long conference table. Moving it farther than 15 feet, the quality noticeably suffered. If you don’t want to be tied by short VGA cables, the Imation Wireless Projection Link is a great alternative.
Pros:
-easy to setup
-intuitive
-has several resolutions available

Cons:
-choppy at high resolutions
