Hitachi DZHS300A Hybrid HDD/DVD Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — June, 2007

With Hitachi’s new idea of putting two storage formats into one camcorder comes the Hitachi DZHS300A Hybrid HDD/DVD. These camcorders come equipped with a hard disk drive (HDD) and a DVD recording drive. The storage medium is chosen with the power switch. Scenes recorded to the HDD can be manipulated, sorted into play lists, and dumped to DVD - all inside the camcorder. With this capability, a lot of video editing can be done without any additional hardware. One can use the HDD recording as source and dub a "program" to DVD. The DZHS300A can be used not just to record video, but to share what you've captured, which is why one makes video recordings in the first
Pros:
-Decent colors
-User friendly
-Dual supported formats
Cons:
-Missing mic input
-Questionable low-light performance
