Hitachi’s CP-A100 is a digital projector that looks good and has an ultra-short throw. Plus, its lighter and smaller than many of its competitors. Built on an LCD engine, you won’t be seeing rainbows from it. The author tested the CP-A100 and found out that it's easy to set up, though finding the right position might take some time - which is an issue with most short-throw projectors. Images from a computer were impressive, but when videos were played, there seemed to be a recognizable loss of detail in dark areas. Despite that, the CP-A100 does the job it is designed to do, making it eligible for PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice.
