Skookum is a feed reader program allows you to directly download the latest podcasts into your Smartphone. You can search for podcasts by typing down the podcast feed URL into the software, or you can use its automatic podcast search feature. The search feature looks for podcasts from ipodder.org’s database, which may limit your search options, but only by a bit. You can download updates whenever you want, or wait for the program’s daily update download. Although most people find podcast MP3files to be too large for their Smartphones, Skookum fully supports downloads into an external memory card. There’s also an ActiveSync feature that allows you to save time and bandwidth by downloading podcasts directly form your PC. Skookum version 2.0 includes additional features such as shownotes, graphics, background images assigned to certain shows, as well as video blogging support.
