Sprint expands its touchscreen phone line with the HTC Touch Diamond. The Sprint version of the Touch Diamond has a very attractive matte red color. Dominating the front of the device is a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 640 x 480-pixel resolution display. It has a built-in accelerometer that automatically reorients the screen when the phone is turned to its side. Aside from Windows Mobile, it also has the quick to navigate TouchFLO 3D interface. For multimedia fans, the Touch Diamond has access to the Sprint Music Store. However, instead of a standalone application, the reviewer noted that it launched the Opera web browser to access the WAP store. Sprint TV is also available, though it was a poor experience overall. An included YouTube application makes watching YouTube movies a breeze. The 3.2-MP camera took crisp and clear images. Using Sprint’s EV-DO Rev.A network, loading mobile optimized sites was fast, though you’re better off using the 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connection for normal web pages. The reviewer stated that call quality is good but not stellar. If you plan to use the Touch Diamond’s multimedia capabilities, you might want to bring the charger along. Overall, the Diamond’s interface, Outlook integration, and sharper camera make it a worthwhile option.
Pros:
-stylish
-includes Opera browser
-fast data speeds
-good camera
Cons:
-keyboard is too big
-pricey
-weak battery life
-no microSD slot
