HTC Fuze AT&T Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — December, 2008

AT&T decided to go and get the latest smart phone from HTC, the Touch Pro, and offer it under the new name HTC Fuze. Fuze measures 4.0 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches and weighs 5.8 ounces. AT&T decided to retain the faceted diamond pattern on the back of the phone. The front is glossy and a fingerprint magnet. Control can be done via four-way directional pad or through the large 2.8-inch, 640 x 480-pixel touchscreen. The keyboard’s layout is slightly different than the one offered by Sprint, though the reviewer noted that typing feels marginally more comfortable in the Fuze. On top of Windows Mobile is HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface. It still has the same 528-MHz processor as the Diamond, so there were moments of sluggishness while working with the interface. The Fuze includes Outlook as its primary e-mail application. Browsing the Web can be done via AT&T’s 3G network or the built-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi for faster speed. Multimedia fans would have to look for their own compatible earbuds to enjoy music purchased over Napster Mobile. All pictures taken with the 3.2-MP camera were well saturated and sharp, and colors were represented accurately. Call quality is good and battery endurance is decent. While $299 may seem a lot for a smart phone, the style and build quality of the HTC Fuze make every penny worth it.
Pros:
-sleek design
-large keyboard
-3.2-MP camera

Cons:
-pricey
-no 3.5-mm headphone jack
