As a part of Best Buy’s Blue Label program, you can expect that the HP Pavilion dv3510nr offers features that the big-box retailers’ customers have been asking for. The dv3510nr certainly looks stylish, with HP’s Intersect Imprint finish on the deck and lid. It weighs only 4.8 pounds - light enough to carry around easily. The full-size keyboard is backlit, firm, responsive and has a protective coating, though the reviewer noted that it feels a little slick. The 13.3-inch, 1280 x 800 display had excellent horizontal and vertical viewing angles and provided bright and crisp visuals. It has plenty of connectivity ports including a USB/eSATA, HDMI, and an ExpressCard/34 slot. The dv3510nr had above average scores for productivity during benchmark tests. The discrete Nvidia GeForce 9300M GPU performed well on graphics tests, scoring more than 500 points above the category average. Wireless throughput tests turned in rates of 19.4 Mbps at 15 feet and 17.8 Mbps at 50 feet respectively. Battery life is in the short side, clocking in 20 minutes below the category average. If battery life isn’t a priority, the HP Pavilion dv3510nr is a solid choice.
Pros:
-stylish
-comes with discrete graphics
-crisp Altec Lansing speakers
-great wireless performance
Cons:
-mediocre battery life
-no Blu-ray option
