Having a five-hour battery life on your notebook won’t cut it if you’re on the road for more than ten hours. If you frequently find yourself out of battery during long trips, you might want to check out the HP EliteBook 6930p. With a brushed, anodized aluminum lid combined with a magnesium alloy chassis, there is no question that the 6930p is durable. It measures 13.0 x 9.6 x 1.2 inches and weighs 5.2 pounds with the standard battery (a whopping 6 pounds with the extended battery). The keyboard is spill-resistant and has a comfortable textured finish. The 14.1-inch LED-backlit display had muted colors though it provided good viewing angles. It comes with an ExpressCard/54 slot and a fingerprint reader along with the requisite ports. Although benchmark scores were below average, the reviewer stated that multitasking with the 6930p’s Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM wasn’t a problem. The Intel GMA 4500MHD GPU scored only half of the thin-and-light average. In order to achieve an amazing 14-hour battery life, HP used a solid state drive, a LED-backlit display and an extended battery. The 6930p is awash with security features including a 3D accelerometer, TPC circuitry and Intel’s vPro technology. If you can handle the weight, the HP EliteBook 6930p is up to the task of all-day computing.
Pros:
-a whopping 14-hour battery endurance with extended battery
-strong performer
-fast SSD
-stylish

Cons:
-heavy when extended battery is used
-poor graphics performance

A single look and you’ll immediately see why HP named its newest business line of notebooks EliteBook. The HP EliteBook 6930p, the line’s flagship model, comes with a brushed, anodized aluminum lid combined with a magnesium alloy chassis. Inside, the deck and upper panel matches the lid design. It weighs 5.2 pounds but can be made even lighter by swapping an HP Illumi-Lite LED-backlit display. The keyboard has a comfortable textured finish. The 14.1-inch, 1280 x 800-pixel display looked crisp and bright and offered good viewing angles. Even with the speakers placed in the underbelly of the notebook, the reviewer noted that it delivered good and loud sounds. For security measures, the 6930p includes a 3D accelerometer, fingerprint reader located on the right side of the deck and TPM circuitry. The 6930p also comes with Presto! BizCard 5, a built-in business card reader that uses the web cam to scan and save business cards. Performance-wise, the 6930p garnered above average scores for both productivity and graphics benchmark tests. The 6930p lasted 3 hours and 32 minutes on a battery life test - just a bit below the category average. With its stylish design, blazing performance and security features, the HP EliteBook 6930p is one excellent option for a premium business notebook.
Pros:
-classy and elegant design
-excellent performance
-bright display
Cons:
-tiny touch buttons
-weak Wi-Fi throughput at 50 feet
