HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — August, 2008

If you need an all-in-one printer but you don't have much space, then the HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP might just be the printer you’ve been pining for. Looking for a spot to place it is a breeze since it only measures 19.1 by 19.6 by 19.3 inches, and weighs 54.5 pounds. It works as a standalone fax machine and color copier, includes a network connector, and can both scan to a PC and fax from a PC over a network. It has a 50-page automatic document feeder, making multipage documents a breeze to process. There is a memory card slot on the front that lets you print photos from memory cards and scan directly to memory cards in JPG format. However, the reviewer noted that the CM1312nfi is on the slow side of printing for a laser, with an engine rating of 12 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome and 8 ppm for color. What it lacks in speed, it makes up for in quality. At 4 points, the reviewer stated that more than half of the fonts on their text tests qualified as well formed and highly readable. Photos can easily pass as true photo quality at arm's length. The HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP delivers more for the price than any of its competitors.
Pros:
-compact
-high-quality output
-can scan and fax over a network

Cons:
-low paper capacity
-slow performance for a laser
