PC manufactures saw huge potential when ASUS released its Eee PC 4G. HP decided to jump into the ultraportable wagon and released what could be an Eee PC 4G killer, the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. The Mini-Note looks like an expensive machine with the anodized aluminum exterior and an equally gorgeous looking interior. The 8.9-inch screen is frameless and the size keeps text or images at its native 1,280-by-768 resolution from looking unbearably tiny. The keyboard is 92 percent, though typing is just as comfortable as on a mainstream laptop with a full-size keyboard. The mouse buttons, on the other hand, is awkwardly placed on the left and right sides of the touchpad. It has the requisite ports including an ExpressCard slot and an SD slot. It runs on a VIA C7-M 1.6-GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. The usual benchmark testing software failed to load on the Mini-Note, but the reviewer stated that its performance is comparable with that of the ASUS Eee PC 4G, which has a Celeron M processor. The design and the available configuration options make the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC a solid contender in the ultra-mobile pc department.
Pros:
-portable
-comfortable keyboard
-has an ExpressCard slot
-2GB RAM

Cons:
-awkward positioning of mouse buttons
-can get quite warm

HP decided to join the mini-notebook bandwagon alongside the CTL 2Go PC when it released the HP 2133 Mini-Note. Originally released with Vista preinstalled, users can now opt for the snappier Windows XP version. It still weighs the same at 3.2 pounds and still has the attractive brushed silver aluminum case over a magnesium-alloy chassis. It carries an 8.9-inch display capable of displaying 1280 x 768-pixel resolution. The reviewer noted that the Mini-Note’s display produced vibrant colors with good viewing angles. One winning feature of the Mini-Note over other mini-notebooks is the 92 percent-sized keyboard with HP’s special coating. It has the usual kinds of ports with the inclusion of an ExpressCard/54 slot which allows you to plug in an ExpressCard mobile broadband modem. The Mini-Note is customizable; you can choose your processor, RAM and hard drive. Benchmark scores were higher than the 2Go PC and the Mini-Note had no problem with video streaming as well as multi-tasking. Battery life is ho hum, providing power for a weak 1 hour and 23 minutes on a charge. If you are looking for a mini-notebook that has the bells and whistles, the HP Mini-Note is an excellent choice.
Pros:
-92 percent-sized keyboard
-A lot of ports
-Good display
-Durable
-Good battery life
Cons:
-Expensive for its class
-Mouse buttons placed awkwardly

The HP 2133 Mini-Note is HP’s entry into the arena of low-cost mini-notebooks. And while it may be a bit more expensive and heavier than its counterpart, the 2133 Mini-Note has several tricks up its sleeve that may just keep it ahead of the competition. Despite being a mini notebook, the 3.2-pound 2133 Mini-Note sports a full keyboard. It also sports a large 8.9-inch crisp display capable of 1280 x 768-pixel resolution. Because of the large resolution, the reviewer stated that it didn’t suffer from windows extending beyond the display. What makes the 2133 Mini-Note quite different is the option to mix and match the configuration of your machine. You can choose what processor, amount of RAM and storage you’d want with your 2133 Mini-Note. The reviewer’s system came with a $749 configuration and benchmark scores were below average, though it had no problem running Vista along with multiple applications. Battery life lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes, which was at par with other systems. If you are in the market for a mini notebook for more than just basic needs and you have the money to pay for it, the HP 2133 Mini-Note may just be the thing.
Pros:
-Almost full-sized keyboard
-Bright display
-Design doesn’t look cheap

Cons:
-Pricier
-Bigger than other mini-notebooks
