Gateway FX530XG Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — June, 2007

The Gateway FX530XG is no doubt built for editing. Featuring a factory-over-clocked Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor as standard, with a very sizeable heat sink, a 120mm fan at the back, an upgradeable 700-watt power supply, an ATI Radeon X1950-based video card, and 512MB of DDR4 memory, it is a behemoth of a system indeed. Included in the package is the FPD2485W, a 24” 1920x1200 monitor, to sweeten the deal. The standard six-speaker Gateway TDX Audio Sound System sounds pretty good, too. It’s a powerful machine at a decent price, one that would make any user happy. Building your own system? It might save you a lot of time and effort to checkout Gateway’s latest offering - well balanced and absolutely worth the money.
Pros:
-Lots of power under the hood
-Really nice monitor
Cons:
-Disabled User Account Control
-EzTune monitor software caused the mouse to freeze on a few occasions
