Fujitsu’s mini-convertible, the LifeBook P1620, just got even better with more power, a brighter display and great endurance from its battery pack. Lift the lid, which the reviewer noted to be loose, and you are greeted by an 8.9-inch swiveling screen. With its higher-contrast ratio, the screen is bright and is resistant to washouts from ambient light. Reverse the LCD and it automatically turns into a tablet and you can use the stylus to activate buttons and surf the web. The reviewer stated that the biggest change in the P1620 is its performance. Now powered by a 1.2-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and an 80GB hard drive, benchmark scores are at above average. The endurance of the P1620 is great, lasting for 4 hours and 56 minutes with wireless on. Even its wireless performance is good, producing throughput of 18.7 Mbps at 15 feet, though the reviewer wished that the P1620 had a mobile connectivity option. Nonetheless, given its features and performance rating, the LifeBook P1620 has enough functionality and usability to justify its price of more than two grand.
