Fujifilm FinePix S3 Reviews

Summary of review published by Digital Camera Magazine — October, 2005 (page 57)

The Fuji Finepix S3, unlike its predecessors the S2 & S1 models, runs on AA batteries alone, which maintain a nice charge. Fuji has also improved its vertical grip and shutter release as well as its flash synch. The reviewer was however disappointed that the camera's sleep function forces the user to use the regular shutter release rather than the more natural vertical shutter. Its hybrid nature means it works well with all Nikon and related products, and its sensor chip is excellent, allowing detailed settings of tonal range, although this feature works better when controlled manually. The camera also allows for automatic file rotation, a handy feature when editing photos.
Pros:
-low noise even at full ISO
-superior sensor elements
-dual card slots allow file range
-easy-to-use batteries
-Nikon compatibility
Cons:
-sleep mode not user friendly
-requires firmware updates
