Fujifilm FinePix F10 Zoom Reviews
Summary of review published by Digital Camera Magazine — October, 2005
Fujifilm regularly creates digital cameras that are sleek and sophisticated and this Finepix F10 Zoom lives up to its reputation, but with slightly lesser performance and less friendly technology. It offers Fuji's unique high resolution technology providing better picture, zoom, and movie quality on a large, but unimpressive LCD screen. Its Real Photo Processor allows incredible low light shots and its battery boasts 500 pictures per charge. Reviewers were split over Fuji's loss of the optical viewfinder, and the picture quality is not quite what is promised.
Pros:
-elegant look
-long battery life
Cons:
-low LCD resolution
-external zoom
-poor picture quality
-slow macro autofocus

Fujifilm's technology has earned deserved accolades for innovations such as its proprietary "Super CCD High Resolution" sensor and support for ISO settings from a low 80 all the way up to a speedy 1600. Coupled with 6.3 megapixels, this should have been a fantastic camera. Alas, the reviewer noticed some key functions that fell just short. With no optical viewfinder, operation in bright sunshine is a hit-or-miss affair, as it's huge LCD washes out and reflects glare. Macro mode is an acceptable, but not great 3 inch focal length, and the extending 3x optical zoom is an odd choice when much smaller cameras have fully enclosed optics. The final nail in the coffin was the image quality, which the reviewer noted was less than stellar, especially for Fujifilm, as images turned out dimmer and fuzzier than expected. Even with the dubious help of the thorough but indecipherable icons in the options, picture quality was disappointing. Coupled with a battery without a retaining clip (minor, but annoying) and a lack of a power jack for charging, the consensus is to wait for the next camera from Fujifilm, as this one seems to be a glitch in an otherwise stellar line.
Pros:
-Excellent ISO range (80-1600)
-Large 2.5" LCD viewfinder
Cons:
-Lacking optical viewfinder
-Picture quality less sharp and bright then expected
