Fjordland Entertainment VIDLED DayLED-40 On-Camera Light Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — October, 2007

LED on-camera lights have been successfully put on the market by Fjordland Entertainment for a fraction of the usual price. The VIDLED’s design is very forthright with a small box, two banks of LEDs and a dimmer dial. The reviewer would have wanted a small padded case with room for light, battery, and gels as it only comes in a plastic shipping container. It also comes with several power options which are all sold as separate accessories: batteries, cigarette lighter adapter and AC adapter. Its light lasts as long as it does due to its apparent lack of heat and the fact that it uses minimal power. The VIDLED isn’t very useful in direct sunlight but it certainly light up the room when it’s dimly-lit. With 52 individual lights, the VIDLED gives a soft quality on facial features. In a profession where one can’t always be in the studio, the videographer will find that this is a dependable, durable, and reasonably priced tool.
Pros:
-Soft light
-Low heat, low power draw
-Uses external battery
-Sturdy
-Affordable
Cons:
-A lack of barn doors and carrying case
