The Everex CloudBook CE1200V was supposed to be a competitor to the already popular EEE series of ASUS. Weighing at just 2 pounds and enclosed in a matte-black casing, the Everex houses a bright 7-inch widescreen display capable of displaying 800 x 400-pixel resolution. The CloudBook also has standard ports as well as a DVI port to hook it up on any external display. The 0.3 installed web camera performed just as the reviewer expected: grainy and sluggish. Powered by a VIA 1.2-GHz C7-M processor and 512MB of DDR2 memory, the reviewer stated that boot up takes up too much time: 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Also, calling up some applications can also take some time. One good point of the Everex is the 30GB drive, larger than other similarly sized notebooks. When it comes to wireless performance, the reviewer stated that it was a disappointment, as you have to be practically next to the router in order to keep the connection going. If it’s out of the box, ready to use notebook you are looking for, the reviewer recommends you to wait till the issues of the CloudBook be addressed, or instead look at the more polished EEE line.
