From the creator of Sim City and Sims, Will Wright, comes Spore - one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent memory. The game allows you to move a creature that you have created through different “stages” - much like the process of evolution. You start first with the birth of your planet and the creation of life in primordial ooze. During the first few stages, customization is a bit limited. Customization options are bumped up once you reach the mating stage. The reviewer noted that the next stage feels more like the Sim City game. After several more stages, you will eventually reach the final frontier, which is Space. With more than 500,000 planets to discover, the conclusion of the game is very hard to reach. Going through the different stages requires a good deal of repetition and a lot of patience - qualities that some might find tedious. The reviewer also noted that the graphics probably won't score especially high marks. Despite the single-player nature of game, EA tried to incorporate features that will provide a sense of community. All in all, the incredible depth of gameplay provided by Spore is indeed worth trying.
Pros:
-deep game
-very customizable elements and worlds
Cons:
-repetitive as one progresses

It took seven years for Will Wright, creator of Sim City, Sim Earth, and The Sims to release his latest work titled Spore. Spore takes advantage of the process of evolution, simulating millions of years of natural selection and adaptation. Players go through five different stages, starting from the Cell stage up to the Space stage, where your highly developed being takes to the stars. The game offers a Creature Creator to help evolve and develop your creature. Eventually, your creature will move from the primordial ooze into land, and eventually become a space-faring people that terraforms planets. Spore features simple, cartoon-like visuals and generally soft, ambient tunes. The reviewer noted that while crafting critters and societies provided enormous amounts of fun, the gameplay was repetitive. However, if you are a fan of Wright’s previous works, you’ll be thoroughly satisfied with Spore. It may not live up to the hype surrounding it, but Spore is one of the freshest titles to hit the gaming scene in some time.
Pros:
-grand scale game
-easy learning curve
-low requirements make it compatible with integrated graphics solutions
-Windows and Mac compatible
Cons:
-freezes occasionally
-repetitive gameplay
