Easily mistaken for a solar powered charger due to its name, the Ecosol Solar Technologies’ Powerstick is in fact a mobile charger that uses energy derived from your computer’s USB port. It weighs 1.4 ounces and is 4 inches long, making it look chunky despite its featherlike weight. To charge the Powerstick, you plug it in a USB port and when you need to charge a certain device, just unplug it and connect one of the nine included tips. These tips work with iPods, iPhones, BlackBerrys, mini-USB devices, and devices by LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. The Powerstick needs at least 90 minutes to be fully charged. While it does replenish other gadgets at decent speed, a fully charged Powerstick mostly revives only a single gadget, leaving power that’s usually not enough for a second device. The reviewer also noted that there were times when the Powerstick will run out of juice only to charge a gadget half-way. Though it does offer more tips and a faster charging time, the Powerstick doesn’t offer enough power to fully charge multiple gadgets.
