Delphi MyFi xm2go XMRadio Receiver Reviews

Summary of review published by Handheld Computing — July, 2005 (page 32)

As Satellite Radio gains momentum, handheld receivers are beginning to enter the market. Delphi has released its MyFi xm2go XM receiver as one of the first into the burgeoning arena with a slightly pricey, but competent handheld unit. The reviewer was impressed by its size and included accessories bundle, but found minor difficulties getting a clear signal inside a building or close to steep natural formations, a problem with all satellite-based technologies. However, a built-in hard drive and 5 hours of battery life per charge ensures that during periods with no power, the music is non-stop. Signal was fine in urban areas, since XM uses repeaters in cities, similar to cell phones. The integral FM transmitter was a bonus, though signal worked best while fairly near the FM receiver. Similar to other XM receivers, the song and artist currently playing are displayed on the screen, but the xm2go includes a memory button to store that information for later retrieval. Accessories bundled were extensive, including the requisite cradle/charging dock and AC adapter, but also in the box were headphones, home and car accessory kits, belt clip, carrying case and a remote control. With a built-in rechargeable battery and antenna, this will be a tough act to follow.
