Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

For those who take 3D graphics seriously needs an equally serious 3D mouse. And that is exactly what the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks is all about. At 1.8 inches tall, 2.7 inches wide and weighing 8.8 ounces, the reviewer noted that the SpaceNavigator is a tad smaller and lighter than its predecessor. It still carries the same design as the original: a circular nub that gives it a futuristic look. The reviewer noted that setting up took less than 5 minutes. Just plug it in a USB port, install a piece of software and you’re done. Because it isn’t your usual mouse, there is a bit of learning curve involved. Once you’ve got operating the SpaceNavigator down pat, zooming and flying using Google Earth and Microsoft Live Search Maps is easy. The reviewer noted that architects or could find use in exploring a city quickly with the SpaceNavigator. It also supports the online game Second Life Release Candidate 1.20.0. Moving and zooming around the game became simpler with the SpaceNavigator. It may not be cheap, but if you work with 3D environments, the ease of use, portability and quality of the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks will surely serve you well.
