Dash Express Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — March, 2008

Most GPS devices aim to make driving through unfamiliar roads easier. On the other hand, the Dash Express has something else in mind: it tells you how to get to a certain destination you are already familiar with, only faster. The very first GPS unit to be internet-connected, it works by gathering and sharing real-time traffic data between all Dash Express users. Punch in an address and the Dash will generate three different routes, all complete with distance as well as traffic conditions displayed in its 4.3-inch screen. Pick one and it will start navigating away. Since you are connected into the internet, you have an almost unlimited number of POI at your fingertips, courtesy of Yahoo! If there’s no cellular signal, the Dash offers 1 million on-board POI. Because the device is for those who know how to get to their destination, using it in unfamiliar roads can be quite difficult. The Dash also features the Dash Express Online that allows you to send addresses to your Dash with ease, save Yahoo searches, and find gas stations around your area. If you have no problems with directions but fed up with traffic, the Dash will revolutionize everyday commuting.
Pros:
-GPRS provides Live data
-Almost unlimited POIs due to Yahoo! Search
-Multiple ways to connect
-Updates sent wireless
Cons:
-Not for those unfamiliar roads
-No multimedia options
