DYMO DiscPainter Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — May, 2008

Even though they’ve always been told not to do so, people continue to judge books by their cover, and most of the time, the same goes for DVDs. If your works are distributed thru discs and you want to look more professional, you might want to try the DYMO DiscPainter. If purchasing it would allow you in the long run to have a considerable return of investment, by all means do it. The DiscPainter is compact, easy to use, and produces excellent professional-looking prints. Although the reviewer encountered a few hitches while installing the product, once set up, it performed brilliantly, earning his recommendation.
Pros:
-Excellent 1200dpi printing
-Compact package
-Smart design
Cons:
-Errors during software installation

If you’re looking for a printer that would print professional looking labels on your CD or DVD then DiscPainter CD/DVD Printer of DYMO is what you’re looking for. This printer is for photographers, videographers, musicians and artists. The printer has a transparent tray cover so that you can see the printing in progress. Installation is easy. All you have to do is run the installation disc and you’re already set. It comes with templates for popular programs such as QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. DYMO has its own program called Discus. It has a variety of template to choose from and customizing the design is simple. One disadvantage the DiscPainter has on its competitors is its price. The printer is expensive and so is its cost per disc.
Pros:
-Prints colored CD and DVD labels
-Software included
-Compatible with most programs
Cons:
-Expensive
