Creative Labs Zen Mosaic 2GB Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — October, 2008

If you are in the market for an inexpensive MP3 player, you might want to take a look at the Creative Zen Mozaic. It’s available in three different color schemes depending on the capacity you would like to get. It has a textured, matte finish that feels comfortable to hold. Beneath the 1.8-inch LCD is a nine-button layout that has a different shade of the particular model’s main color. The reviewer noted that the layout is confusing at first, though the interface itself is pretty straightforward. The Mozaic also comes with a small monaural speaker on the back that automatically turns on when the headphones are unplugged. The reviewer stated that loading content on the unit’s memory wasn’t a problem using Windows Media Player and Real Rhapsody. The included earbuds are fine for general listening, but audiophiles might want to swap them for high-end headphones for fuller sound and better vocals. Video quality is good, though the small screen isn’t recommended for movie marathons. Battery life is rated at 32 hours for audio and 5 hours for video. If it’s a value-priced MP3 player you’re looking for, the Creative Zen Mozaic is worth considering.
Pros:
-good sound quality
-cheap
-has a built-in speaker
Cons:
-confusing button layout
-scratch-prone screen
-no volume buttons
-no Mac support
