Corel DVD Copy 6 Plus Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — March, 2008

Inspired by the local copy shop, Corel introduced the DVD Copy 6 Plus - a software that does a whole lot more than just duplicate DVDs. It comes with other bonuses as well, such as the VirtualDriver (allows the mounting of a disc image as a virtual DVD-ROM drive), Disc Label (a label creator with LightScribe support), and the WinDVD 8 Silver. The reviewer stated that using Copy 6 Plus is a simple process - you choose a task, choose a target device, pick a target folder or drive, and hit “Start”. It supports multiple formats including DivX at 720 and MPEG-2, H.264 and WMV at both 720 and 1080, as well as portable devices. Copying a DVD to a hard drive was a cinch. Also, converting a DVD to H.264 at 1Mbps produced great looking videos that are leaner in size. One caveat is the aspect ratio dialog box being grayed out when burning a new DVD from raw files, though the reviewer stated that a patch is on the way. If you need an easy to use, no fuss software that copies DVD and does conversions, the Corel DVD Copy 6 Plus is a great option.

Pros:
-easy to follow interface
-wide array of supported formats
Cons:
-has problems encoding 16:9
