Chimera Video Pro Plus 8005 Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — April, 2007

Light banks have been a staple in a videographer’s lighting cache. Chimera’s Video Pro Plus 8005 Light Kit bears excellent lighting quality though it does have its setbacks. There is a lack of a handle or speed ring with which to grasp when adjusting light and this can easily work against you in a shoot. Directional control has always been a problem with light banks but fortunately, this particular product provides an added degree of light direction management with its collapsible 40-degree egg crate grid. With a decent amount of assembly and disassembly time, this large light source is great for quick setups. For the reviewer, it can easily settle into a professional videographer’s arsenal.
Pros:
-Very even light quality from a moderately small source with a good degree of control.
Cons:
-No handle on speed ring to grasp when adjusting light.
-Some adjustments are awkward.
